Starship Q Star
A queer comedy sci-fi audio series, STARSHIP Q STAR follows ex girlfriends SIM and AURELIA as they attempt to Co-Captain their crew through the universe in search of a new home. Lauren created STARSHIP Q STAR alongside her Co-Captain in life: wife and fellow screenwriter, Meegan May. They endeavoured to create a show that asked, what would happen if STAR TREK and THE L WORD had a weird, hilarious baby?
The show had a brilliant first season, rocketing up charts and picking up awards around the world. They were also featured by Apple Podcasts Australia NZ on release in December 2022 and for WorldPride in February 2023, as well as Spotify ANZ in February 2023 under ‘Fresh Finds: Fiction’ and September in ‘SciFi Club’. The show was honoured to take out the Audio Fiction World Cup, ranking #1 in the world for 2023.
